Silvano Perozic

Director of V

Your project has entered in our festival. What is your project about?
It is a love fairy tale situated on indefinite time.

What are your ambitions with your project?
To express my thoughts and opinion and to be seen. More live screaning would be welcomed :)

Tell us something about your shooting?   What pleasantly surprised you?
The possibilities of such a simple and basic program as an Effect 3D Studio. I used a completely different software from one film to another. In my awarded experimental film "Q1" I made all drawings with Windows Paint only which is not right animation tool , as every film maker knows. But I tried and did it well regarding awards This film was made frame by frame in stop animation technique ,

For what group of spectators is your film targeted?
For everyone, for young people too,bit more for open minded spectators, but it was not in my mind while I was working on this film.

Why should distributors buy your film?

I had no interest in mind as a starting point , just enjoyed to create.

I always made films and music for my pleasure. It was a challenge for me to keep the harmony and balance between the film and the music.

How would you specify your work? What characterizes your film?
"Research" with one word.   My Music definitely .I am active registered composer of mostly instrumental music .  Melody main tune could be arranged in any kind of music, any manner, with todays synthesizers, or with string quartet or octet , could be played with heavy guitars too .  Melody is ageless at least I think it is , same as my short film, same as short haired woman or Vitruvian Man, a high tech symbol of that ancient time . My choise of colours and scene composition .  I am a professional painter . And that Something , that unvisible thin suptile but present presence ,I hope .

Why did you decided to become a filmmaker?
I had been fascinated with movies as a young boy and later , so I was drawing much, making "films" on "cashier" machine roles.

I got from my parents on my 11th. birthday an Euming 8 mm camera with lot of options what the biger cameras from that time had ,with double exposition, varies frame rate ,etc, enough for some basic animation ,slow motion or even time laps effect .

 Who is your role model?
I had and have many. Kubrick, Kieslowski,Orson Welles, Coppola,David Lynch. There is not enough space to not to forget to mention everybody who had some influence on me .

Which movies are your favorites? Why?
Red by Krzysztof Kieślowski , Mulhooland drive by David Lynch ,Sky Over Berlin by Wim Wenders ,Litlle Big Man by Arthur Penn ,2001: A Space Oddissey by Stanley Kubrick,Heavens gate by Michael Cimino ,Apocalypse now - directors cut ,etc .  Answere on Why question need much time , long conversations ,infact book or two .

Where do you look for inspiration for your films?
From life: experiences, events, adventures, difficulties or joy, from books, films, music, nature, people, women.

Which topics interest you the most?
Invisible, not touchable, sometimes not understandable but existing things, as love or intuition ,let's say.

What do you consider your greatest achievement in your career?
Knowledge about results of my work.

What do you consider most important about filming?

The idea and the story definitely, in my case music is important part too, montage, final editing, last steps are always the most important, they gives a final rythm to the film .

Which film technique of shooting do you consider the best?
It depends. Short movies don't need a 70 mm film camera. I keep with myself a pocket camera, HDV or 4K with enough quality, you never know ...

Right question for me will be ,what animation technique I consider the best , any technique could be   the best ,there is no any limits everything is alowed in animated films .

How would you rate/What is your opinion about current filmmaking?
I am not the right person to answer it, as I am not following trends and all recent productions. It would be cool to be more involved in everything I would like to, I would really enjoy too , but unfortunately I don't have time.

What can disappoint you in a movie?
Lack of the story , Bad montaging between two dialoque scenes the most.

Who supports you in your film career?
Everybody who loves me, my films, my paintings and my music.
