Your project has entered our festival. What is your project about?
This is a musical micro documentary, featuring Jonathan and Tania Schipper (France) on their honeymoon along the West Coast of the USA.
What are your ambitions with your project?
I am enjoying giving their project the publicity that it deserves.
Tell us something about your shooting? What pleasantly surprised you?
ania's style is totally free form. She uses her favorite camera, iPhone and everybody is loving the results!
For what group of spectators is your film targeted?
This is a happy, feel-good musical film that targets every audience and every age group. I think that's why it is so successful .
Why should distributors buy your film?
It has been screened and is very popular in about 6 countries so far - this is one popular musical! AND they can do many more!
How would you specify your work? What characterizes your film?
Totally happy, feel-good, entertainment.
Why did you decide to become a filmmaker?
I enjoy being a part of the film community which has always been very welcoming to me - and has awarded me many times for my screenplays with my co-writer Suz Carr.
Why did you decide to become a filmmaker?
I enjoy producing my nephew and his wife's work very much - it is a family project for sure!
Who is your role model?
Martin Scorsese!
Which movies are your favorites? Why?
My favorites will always be The Departed and The Shawshank Redemption.
Where do you look for inspiration for your films?
Tania and Jonathan's inspirations come from within. Jonathan's music is very popular in France. Tania is a natural filmmaker. They are a perfect fit.
Which topics interest you the most?
We all enjoy traveling, exploring, creating....for me personally, I was a saxophone player who also enjoyed Latin dance.
What do you consider your greatest achievement in your career?
This year, right now, this micro musical doc! I never would have imagined how popular it would be - I just knew that I really loved it. I am grateful, honored and thrilled that the film community agrees!
What do you consider most important about filming?
Framing, editing - and of course the music!
Which film technique of shooting do you consider the best?
I leave the shooting to Tania's whims. She is a natural!
How would you rate/What is your opinion about current filmmaking?
I have friends in the film community who are shooting very serious projects. Thought-provoking, sad and very real films about what's going on in the world right now. Films like "Shielding Sheila" by Joyce Grey-Carter really touch me! Comfort Ndzinisa's "The Unthinkable" series Part 1 and 2 are unbelievably moving!
What can disappoint you in a movie?
An unfortunate ending....
Who supports you in your film career?
My friends, family and most of all the film festival community!
